Hinjewadi residents raise concerns over neglected road repair at laxmi chowk
In spite of frequent complaints and advance intimation to the authorities, Hinjewadi residents have complained that the over-saturated stretch at Laxmi Chowk is still in a dilapidated state. The Wakad-Pimpri Chinchwad Residents Development and welfare Assciation said even after posting videos and pointing out the deplorable state of the road almost 15 days back, neither the PMRDA nor the MIDC has initiated any action.
The organization identified that the stretch full of potholes has become a key traffic point of congestion in the IT city, causing significant disruption to daily commuters. It is so severe that even police wardens stationed to manage traffic are not able to do it smoothly; sometimes they cannot even take a break to eat food because of the extreme congestion due to potholes, the association posted on social media platform X.
Citizens have now requested the Pune Divisional Commissioner to intervene and instruct the relevant authorities to restore the road at the earliest. They justify that if prompt action is not taken, it will not be fair to blame traffic police for congestion when the real cause is poor infrastructure that has gone unchecked.
